Osteopathy

25 Oct 2018 wellness-studio.co.uk

Osteopathy Osteopathy is a field of clinical medicine, including the provision of medical care to patients with somatic dysfunctions at the stages of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation, based on the anatomical and functional unity of the body and using manual methods that restore the body's ability to correct itself.
Almost the entire human body is in the sphere of influence of osteopathy, including the internal organs and structures of the skull. Techniques used by osteopaths are continually being improved and complemented by new methods of diagnosis and treatment. It is a lively, dynamic, modern system of preventive medicine.
Osteopathy includes the following sections:

  • The craniosacral part is based on the restoration of the micromotion of the brain and spinal cord, as well as the surrounding membranes, the seams of the bones of the skull and sacrum.
  • The structural section is based on the principle of unity of the muscular-articular system. The osteopathic effect is produced within the physiological barriers of each element of the system, taking into account its local, regional and global interconnections, and is aimed at eliminating the primary damage.
  • The visceral section is aimed at eliminating impaired mobility of internal organs, eliminating viscerospasms or functional ptosis using specific visceral techniques.

Osteopathy and its basics

Unlike other methods of treatment with hands, osteopathy uses a comprehensive approach to the body as a whole. The human body can be figuratively compared with the perfect car, reliable and fragile at the same time. When all the parts of this car are in place, well-fitted, lubricated, when the car has fuel, and it goes where it should be, and it is of the right quantity, all parts of the vehicle will run smoothly. If at least one component is damaged, it will manifest somehow. Such manifestations in the human body are called disease.
Any disease has both a functional and an organic component. The functional component is caused by a disorder in the function of an organ without disrupting its structure. The organic component, on the contrary, is associated with damage to the structure of the organ. Depending on the ratio of functional and organic disorders, the effectiveness of osteopathic treatment will also change.
Osteopathy is most effective in functional disorders when organic disorders have not yet developed, that is, the organ has not undergone changes. In this case, the earlier you go to an osteopathic doctor, the faster and easier he will be able to eliminate the source of the problems and get you back to a healthy life. You can fully restore the function of the organ and eliminate the manifestations of the disease at this stage, without resorting to other methods of treatment.
