Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections are popular in aesthetic medicine to rejuvenate and slow the ageing process. They use the person's unique tissue growth factors and healing properties to revitalise mesenchymal-epithelial tissue by improving blood supply. PRP also stimulates collagen and elastin formation, which will enhance and increase over time.
We draw a small volume of the client's blood (10-20 ml). Then, through centrifugation, we separate PRP from the blood and inject it into identified areas with a fine needle. It may take a few weeks (or months in case of hair re-growth) for the results of the PRP therapy to become visible, but with two to three top-up treatments every 4 to 6 months, you can expect the effects of PRP therapy to last for up to one and a half years. Recovery time is minimal. An ice pack and mild painkillers could alleviate reported mild discomfort at the injection site, swelling and bruising.
The duration of the treatment is sixty minutes.
