Skin tags are harmless, non-infective little overgrowths of normal skin that can be unsightly and catch things. Besides, you may often find a skin tag on your neck, eyelids, armpits, chest and groin areas. There may be one or multiple tags of various sizes, from 1 to 4 millimetres, raised away from the skin on a “stalk”. Rarely do they drop off. Electrolysis is also effective for facial thread veins, milia, blood spots, common warts, plane warts, seborrhoeic warts and age spots.
How does electrolysis work?
We can remove them by administering a tiny amount of local anaesthetic to the area and removing them with a surgical blade or by cauterising them with diathermy (electrolysis). We may apply a small dressing afterwards. This procedure may take only ten to fifteen minutes.
