Six-session colonic irrigation course in London
Spring Cleanse is a structured course of six colonic irrigation sessions at Parkland Natural Health in Holborn, Central London. It is designed for clients who want a longer programme of bowel irrigation rather than a single appointment or a short three-session course.
Some clients choose the course because they are interested in bowel regularity, incomplete emptying, bloating, trapped wind or a sluggish bowel. Six appointments also give your therapist more opportunities to review how you respond between sessions and adjust the spacing where appropriate.
There is no need for every client to follow the same timetable. Your therapist can discuss the spacing of your appointments according to your bowel habits, previous experience and response to the course.
What is included in the Spring Cleanse?
- Six colonic irrigation appointments using our closed-system, gravity-fed equipment.
- Personal consultation to discuss bowel habits, digestive comfort and your reasons for choosing the course.
- Suitability screening before treatment begins.
- Warm filtered water with controlled filling and release.
- Gentle abdominal massage where appropriate for comfort and release.
- Review between appointments so your therapist can consider your response and adapt subsequent sessions where appropriate.
Online booking also gives you the current 18% package saving.
Why choose six sessions rather than one or three?
A single colonic may suit clients who want to experience colon hydrotherapy for the first time. A three-session course provides a short structured programme. Spring Cleanse offers a longer six-session format for clients who prefer continued review over several appointments.
Importantly, research has studied repeated bowel and transanal irrigation, rather than proving that exactly six professional colonics are better than three. We therefore use this evidence as clinical context for repeated irrigation rather than promising a particular result from a six-session course.
What does research show about repeated bowel irrigation?
Researchers have studied repeated bowel irrigation in people with chronic constipation and difficulty emptying the bowel.
A 2025 systematic review examined 16 studies involving 1,567 people with chronic constipation and/or faecal incontinence. Most observational studies reported improvements in symptoms, quality of life or both. However, the authors also highlighted the need for more high-quality randomised trials.
Scientific source: PubMed PMID 41168141 – Transanal irrigation in chronic constipation and faecal incontinence.
A 2026 multicentre study followed 216 adults with functional constipation over long-term follow-up. Participants reported reduced constipation severity and greater satisfaction with bowel function.
Scientific source: PubMed PMID 42011892 – Transanal Irrigation in Functional Constipation: Long-term Results.
An earlier prospective study of retrograde colonic irrigation also reported improvement in bowel-emptying symptoms in selected patients, including less feeling of incomplete evacuation.
Scientific source: PubMed PMID 18720454 – Prospective study of colonic irrigation for defaecation disorders.
These medical bowel-irrigation protocols are not identical to professional colon hydrotherapy at Parkland Natural Health. Nevertheless, they provide useful evidence that repeated irrigation has been studied as a bowel-management approach for selected people.
Colon filling and normal bowel reflexes
Colon hydrotherapy involves controlled filling and release. Human physiological research shows that rectal filling can engage normal sensory and motor responses involved in the urge to defecate and bowel emptying.
In one human study, researchers described a recto-colic reflex. When rectal filling produced the urge to empty the bowel, pressure and contractions increased in the left colon.
Scientific source: PubMed PMID 9028993 – Recto-colic reflex: role in the defecation mechanism.
This research provides useful physiological context for controlled filling and release. However, we do not claim that a course of colon hydrotherapy permanently strengthens bowel muscles or guarantees independence from laxatives.
Who may choose the Spring Cleanse?
The six-session course may appeal to clients who:
- want a longer structured programme rather than one or three appointments;
- are interested in more regular or predictable bowel emptying;
- experience a feeling of incomplete evacuation;
- are interested in support for bloating, trapped wind or a sluggish bowel;
- already have experience of colon hydrotherapy and prefer a longer course;
- want the better-value 18% online package price.
Persistent constipation, unexplained abdominal pain, rectal bleeding or a lasting change in bowel habits should also be assessed appropriately by a GP or another healthcare professional.
What happens during each appointment?
Your therapist uses our closed-system, gravity-fed colon hydrotherapy setup with warm filtered water. Throughout the appointment, the therapist controls filling and release according to your comfort and feedback.
Gentle abdominal massage may also support comfort and release. At later appointments, your therapist can discuss how you responded since your previous session and adapt the treatment where appropriate.
How should I prepare?
A quick tip: don’t drink any liquids two hours before your procedure. Besides, do not take laxatives or drink coffee before and after treatment. However, you don’t need to fast before or after visiting us.
Is the Spring Cleanse suitable for everyone?
Consultation and suitability screening are included. If screening shows that colon hydrotherapy is not appropriate for you, we will not proceed and we will give you a full refund.
You can also review our colonic irrigation suitability, restrictions and contraindications before booking.
Would a shorter course suit you better?
If you are completely new to colon hydrotherapy, you may prefer to start with our single colonic irrigation session with consultation.
If you prefer a shorter structured programme, see our Mini Detox – 3 Colonic Irrigation Course.
You can also compare all our colonic irrigation treatments and packages.

Rob Newman –
Friend of mine recommended Wellness Studio Centre for me so I decide to go. Believe it or not this is the first time I walk into a medical centre and I felt comfortable that practitioner was amazing making me feel very welcome.
Dr. Silajev is a true professional. He takes the time needed not to just treat you, but to explain the cause of pain and how to properly treat it through detox and dieting. Unlike others I’ve been to, he truly focuses on long term healing. I trust him fully and continue to refer him to people I know who need this type of care.*
Nicola Thomas –
Very good. Friendly staff and rapid response. 🙂 *
