14 Sep 2018 wellness-studio.co.uk

Stagnation and purification of lymph Lymph is a transparent liquid substance, the composition of which is almost identical to the blood plasma. The lymph flows through the vessels of the lymphatic system and circulates in the human body according to the principle of the bottom-up. Along with the tissue fluid and blood, the lymph maintains the water balance in the body, and also promotes the elimination of toxins, participates in the metabolic process, provides a link between organs and tissues.
Lymph stagnation or lymphostasis is a condition caused by impaired lymph flow and accumulation in the tissues of the intercellular fluid. Lymphostasis leads to increased permeability and rupture of lymphatic capillaries, but at the same time leads to the formation of protein coagulants the blood clots in the vessels. Stagnation of lymph causes chronic puffiness, hypoxia of tissues, disturbance of water-electrolyte balance and metabolic processes, dystrophic and sclerotic changes. Stagnation and purification of lymph are interrelated processes.
The most characteristic symptoms of lymphatic stasis are:

  • swelling of the face and extremities;
  • bags under the eyes;
  • cellulite;
  • chronic sinusitis (inflammation of the nasal sinuses);
  • susceptibility to colds;
  • point inflammation of the skin.
Lymphostasis can be caused by infectious and parasitic invasions, high blood pressure, trauma and skin diseases, tumour processes, radiation therapy.

What are the consequences of stagnation of lymph and lymphatic drainage?

With stagnant phenomena in the lymphatic system, accumulation of harmful substances the toxins, of which the body must get rid. Because of this, lymphostasis is accompanied by increased stress on some internal organs, in particular, on the liver, kidneys and intestines. Ensuring good lymph drainage and outflow of intercellular fluid is necessary to remove toxins. Therefore, stasis and clearing of lymph should necessarily go one after another.
Lymph purification is indicated under conditions such as:
  • inflammatory diseases of the pelvic organs such as cystitis, adnexitis, endometritis;
  • allergic skin lesions such as atopic dermatitis, neurodermatitis, eczema;
  • viral and bacterial infections of the upper respiratory tract;
  • endocrine pathologies, primarily thyroid disease, obesity and diabetes mellitus;
  • violations in the functioning of the liver and intestines and, as a consequence, insufficient detoxification of the body.
There are many methods for purifying the lymphatic system, which means adherence to a diet, the use of fresh fruits and vegetables and their juices according to a particular scheme, taking infusions of medicinal herbs. You should choose the method of cleansing after consultation with your doctor. Stagnation and purification of lymph are severe stages in the recovery of the body.
