What Happens During Your Appointment?
1. Consultation
We discuss your reasons for booking, relevant health history and any circumstances that could make treatment unsuitable.
2. Treatment
We gradually introduce warm filtered water using our closed-system, gravity-fed equipment. The therapist stays with you throughout and adjusts the process based on your comfort and response.
3. After the Session
You can normally continue with your day afterwards. We can also discuss practical questions about hydration, eating, and bowel routine before you leave.
A typical Parkland appointment is around 60 minutes including consultation. We may use gentle abdominal massage where appropriate.
What Colon Hydrotherapy Does — and What It Should Not Promise
Colon hydrotherapy works directly with water and the contents of the large bowel. Some people choose the procedure because they want a practical bowel-cleansing experience or because they feel constipated or incompletely evacuated.
It should not be presented as a cure for disease or as a way to remove toxins from the bloodstream, prevent parasites, treat inflammatory bowel disease, cure allergies, strengthen the immune system or produce fat loss.
Any immediate change on the scales after bowel emptying primarily reflects bowel contents and fluid, not loss of body fat.
Evidence matters
Evidence supporting broad “detox” or disease-treatment claims for colon cleansing is limited. We therefore keep our explanation of colon hydrotherapy practical and do not describe it as a replacement for medical diagnosis or treatment.
Safety and Suitability Come First
Colon hydrotherapy is not suitable for everyone. Certain bowel conditions, active gastrointestinal bleeding, recent major bowel or abdominal surgery, severe cardiovascular conditions, renal failure, pregnancy and other circumstances may mean treatment should not proceed.
If consultation at Parkland identifies a contraindication and treatment cannot safely go ahead, the procedure will not be carried out.
Persistent or unexplained symptoms should be appropriately medically investigated rather than using colon hydrotherapy as a substitute for diagnosis.
