Group B streptococci colonize the nasopharynx, digestive tract and vagina. Most isolators are identified as S. agalactiae. Despite the fact that the microorganism can be isolated from the vagina with 25-45% pregnant women, the main reservoir is considered to be the digestive tract. In terms of serology, group B streptococci can be divided into serovars Ia, Ib, Ic, II and III. Serovar bacteria are trophic to the tissue of the central nervous system and respiratory tract and most often cause meningitis with neonates. The way of contamination is the advancing of the fetus through the generative passage infected by streptococci.
Colon cancer is the second leading cancer killer in the United Kingdom.
Colon cancer appears more frequently in women and rectal
cancer has higher occurrence in men. Periodic cleansing would minimize the exposure of potential carcinogens to the colon walls, would dilute the toxin concentration in the cecum and facilitate the removal of same. The result is a reduced load on the portal (liver) and lymphatic system allowing the five eliminative organs of the body (skin, lymph, lungs, kidneys, and bowel) to balance the removal of these toxins with their production. When a breakdown in one or more of these systems exist and toxins abound, the potential for disease exists.
From the signal stage of history surrounding ancient Egypt, practices of colonic irrigation in their most basic form - enemas or clysters - have provided people with internal cleansings adjunctive to their personal external hygiene. The Ebers Papyrus, from the 14th century BC prescribes internal cleansing for no less than twenty stomach and intestinal complaints.
1. But in the modern era it fell to J. H. Kellogg, MD, of Battle Creek, Michigan, famous for his invention of corn flakes and various techniques of good hygiene, to popularize colonic irrigation. This happened from Dr. Kellogg's publication of his article in the Journal of the American Medical Association praising the procedure's efficacy for saving a dysfunctional large bowel.
Laxatives act as chemical irritants and stimulate the muscular walls of the colon to abnormally contract to expel the irritating substances. It is very easy to become dependant upon these drugs and permanently destroy the normal ability of the colon to eliminate naturally on its own accord.
Colonic irrigation is an extended and more complete form of an enema. The concept involves the mechanical process of infusing warm filtered water into the rectum with the objective of cleansing and balancing the colon. This procedure removes fecal material from colon walls and dilutes the bacterial toxin concentration in the large intestine.
